The Program
ALARM (Advances in Labour and Risk Management) is a two-day certification course, hosted by the McMaster Midwifery Program and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC). The content of the course is evidence-based and incorporates the Canadian practice guidelines, so participants who complete the course gain an understanding of the latest best practices for providing care.
Target Audience
Midwifery students, Residents in Family Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology, Midwives, Family Physicians, and Nurses who work with pregnant persons.
Objectives
The ALARM course objective is to evaluate, update and maintain the competence of obstetricians/gynecologists, family physicians, midwives and nurses.
Pre-Requisite
Must be a Level 3 midwifery student, family or OB resident, or registered midwife, physician, or nurse.

Cancellation Policy
Please note: The university reserves the right to cancel an activity due to any circumstances that are beyond our control. Any registrant cancellations received a minimum of 14 days before the event start date will be refunded less a 25% administrative fee to a maximum of $50.00. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after this date. When a cancellation occurs due to illness or extenuating circumstances less than 14 days from the course start date, your name will be added to a waitlist and you will be contacted for dates that become available on short notice. We are unable to guarantee that a replacement spot will become available.
